Ariel Levinson

Born in 1979, a teacher of Hebrew Literature and Jewish culture, Ariel just completed his PhD at the Hebrew Literature Department of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Winner of The Warburg prize and the Nathan Rotenstreich Grant for Excellent Doctoral Students in The Humanities 2013-2016, given by the Council for Higher Education, Israel. Winner of the Harry & Silvia Hoffman Leadership and Responsibility Fellowship Program, 2010 – 2013, Hebrew University. Artistic director and curator of The Studio, a joint venture by the Gesher and Avichai Foundations - a hub for leading writers and directors of cinema and television, enhancing connection and inspiration from the Hebrew story and Jewish and Israeli culture. A board member of The Jerusalem Season of Culture. A cultural entrepreneur and founding partner and Director of the BINA Jerusalem Secular Yeshiva. Avishay Wohl

Co-Director of the Jerusalem Secular Yeshiva

Avishay was born in Karkur, Israel. He received a bachelor’s degree from Hebrew University in General Literature and Bible Study. He taught literature and Bible for three years in a high school in Jerusalem. During his army service he was a commander and a fighter in the Golani Brigade and a company commander in cadet basic training. Avishay is a co-founder and co-director of the Secular Yeshiva in Jerusalem. He is the proud father of two children. +972.52.6858072

Nir Amit

Co-Director and Teacher at the Jerusalem Secular Yeshiva

Born in Haifa, Nir moved to Jerusalem for the spirituality and the people. He studied literature of all kinds for his bachelor's degree. Nir is a tour guide, guiding mostly in nature and in Jerusalem. He facilitates an Arab-Jewish dialogue group and also teaches at the Keshet High School. A co-founder of the yeshiva in Jerusalem, Nir and his partner, Natalie have one daughter, Anna.

Yali Shner


Born in Kibbutz Lohamei HaGetaot, Yali currently resides in Jerusalem. Yali received a BA from Herbrew University in Hebrew Literature and Philosophy. Yali writes poetry, teaches creative writing and literature, and coordinates and guides the post-army program at the Secular Yeshiva in Tel Aviv.
