Updated Refund Policy for COVID-19 Pandemic
BINA Gap Year 2021-2022 is scheduled to run as planned, as long as we are able to do so safely and in full compliance with Israeli Ministry of Health guidelines, and taking into consideration guidelines from participants' home countries and restrictions on air travel. In the event that BINA cancels the program due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will offer registered participants full refunds of paid tuition and deposits. Under all other circumstances, the program refund policy below will remain in effect.

Once we have received the completed personal questionnaire, health forms and essays, we will be in touch to arrange a video interview. We may require additional letters from mental health professionals or medical doctors.

 

We will only review complete applications – completed personal questionnaire, health forms and essays and video interview. 

 Tuition fees for 2021-2022:

BINA Service Year (11 months in Israel): $17,500

BINA LEAP Year (10 months in Israel and 1 month in USA): $19,000

Tuition includes:

  • Educational programming, including Hebrew Ulpan, and classes at BINA
  • Group meals cooked together on campus
  • Group living expenses for collectively buying food and house supplies
  • Accommodation including utilities 
  • Educational tours, overnight trips, and seminars
  • Bus fare to and from volunteering, program trips etc. (not including bus fare for private traveling)
  • Health insurance 

*Please note that tuition does not include flights to and from Israel

Health Insurance

All participants will receive basic health care coverage from one of Israel's health care cooperatives. There is a clinic and pharmacy in the neighborhood in which they live. However, please note that this insurance does not cover preexisting conditions, mental health, dental, or a few other treatments. 

*Participants taking prescription medications should bring enough with them to last the duration of the program.

Financial Aid

Masa Israel Journey works to make it as easy as possible for Jewish young adults to come to Israel. Masa offers grants and needs-based scholarships to help make the experience more affordable, and provides information about other grants and scholarships available for long-term Israel programs from third party organizations. Masa provide every eligible participant a grant towards participating in a program in Israel. Grant amounts are determined by factors such as age, home country, length of program, etc. In addition, need-based scholarships are available. 

Masa Israel’s grants and scholarships are a gift of the Government of Israel and The Jewish Agency for Israel, made possible through the generous contributions of the Jewish Federations of North America and Keren Hayesod-UIA.

It is strongly recommended to contact your local Jewish Federation and synagogue to see what kinds of scholarships might be available in your area.

Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Payment Deadlines

All payments must be made by the below deadlines unless an alternative payment plan has been approved in writing with the program staff. A $500 late fee will be assessed for payments not submitted by the June 30th or August 10th deadline (or if a written alternative payment plan has not been approved by these dates).

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Participants who cancel their participation prior to June 1st – a $500 cancellation fee will apply
  • Participants who cancel their participation between June 1-June 30 – a $1,000 cancellation fee will apply
  • Cancellation between July 1-July 31 – a $2,500 cancellation fee will apply
  • Cancellation between August 1 and program start – $4,000 cancellation fee
  • Tuition and fees are non-refundable once the program has begun
  • We ask that participants who choose to terminate their participation in the program give at least two weeks notice, in order to ease their departure from their volunteering assignments, from the group and from the program facilities
  • Participants who are dismissed from the program due to violation(s) of program rules will not be eligible for refunds
  •  Exceptions will be made at the sole discretion of the Program Director
